Everyone wants them, everyone is looking for them, but how can you find cheaper flights, flying to Hawaii for just under 450 euros return or flying to London for 16 euros return, isn't it possible? Yes, it is, and in my article today I'll give you some insights into our secrets for finding very cheap flights for your holidays.
How do you find cheap flights?
If you want cheap flights, start your search early! With most airlines you can get cheap flights up to 11 months in advance. As soon as you know a trip is coming up, start looking for flights. Check the internet once a week to see how fares change, as airline ticket prices change almost daily. Once you have found a price you are happy with, book your tickets and don't wait too long.
When is the best time to book flights?
You may find it hard to believe, but yes, the day of the week definitely plays an important role when it comes to booking flights. Airlines are sneaky. They know how they work and when you have the most time to book your flights, so airfares skyrocket on the weekend, even if you book a flight that doesn't work over the weekend. The best days to book flights are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Nobody deals with finding cheap flights during the week - except us, of course 😉 - that's why prices drop on Tuesday and Wednesday. So we go to the PC and book the next bargain.
You can also find some real bargains at the end of the year. Last minute is the magic word, because at the end of the year airlines want to sell their last seats and so there are super last minute deals. So if you have the chance to get a spontaneous holiday, I can only recommend that you wait until November and December to book. It's a bit of a gamble, but if you want to fly cheap, you have to play a bit of poker 😉 Once you've found a bargain, you shouldn't wait too long to make your booking, because - especially for long-haul flights - really cheap flights sell out quickly. For example, if you see an offer like for example to Hawaii for around 450 euros, you shouldn't wait for the next day, because I can guarantee you one hundred percent that this flight will no longer exist.
Summary
- Book flights on Tuesday or Wednesday
- Use last minute offers in November and December
- For long-haul flights, don't wait too long to book a bargain flight.
